you can see the daisies in her footsteps
Jun. 11th, 2004 01:42 pmToday is an interesting day so far. There's so much going on that I want to be kept busy, to prevent me from dwelling on it all. Kathy's bridal shower is tomorrow. We're having it at her family's house. I won't be as responsible for it as I was for Emily's shower (since Jamie is the maid of honor and her mom is handling a lot of things), but I feel unprepared anyway. There are two showers, actually- one in the morning for Daniel's people (Daniel will be there for both) and one in the afternoon for Kathy's people. I'm planning to show up sometime in the middle of the first shower and help Jamie prepare for the one we're throwing. Craziness.
Also, the moving-out process is beginning. Kathy wants to start taking down some of her posters and stuff so I can rearrange my posters. It's good that we're starting this early, because our stuff is so mixed up that it'll take time to sort out what belongs to whom. Casey told me that Lauren Winner's book Girl Meets God (which at least ten people have recommended to me) has a section about friendships and how it's like a divorce when they end. I really want to read that book. In other apartment-related news, I got a utility bill yesterday that almost made me have a nervous breakdown. Therefore, I am now thinking very seriously about moving in December when my lease is up. Watch this space for further updates.
I keep forgetting to mention that
Ruthie, in the midst of her own wedding week, sent me a Warren Barfield CD that I am liking a lot. Thanks for being so nice and thoughtful, Ruthie! I hope married life is treating you well! :)
Girls: I have another hair appointment in a couple of weeks, and something has to be done about my highlighting situation. The bottom part of my hair has been through the process so many times, it still looks blonde right after my stylist puts the red toner on. Myla tells me I can get it "reverse highlighted," meaning they'll put some of my natural color back in, but I'm skeptical as to how that will look. I'm thinking of just getting my stylist to put the red back in without bleaching again, and then maybe the roots won't be so obvious. Has anyone done anything like this? Help!
Okay, this was long. Have a good weekend. :)
