Okay, I know I'm stupid for having to ask this, but can someone explain how to download a (free) font from a website? All fonts are zipped now, it seems, and I don't know how to unzip them. I've tried opening them, extracting them to the fonts folder, and everything else I can think of. They never show up in Word. I need some weddingy font choices for my invitations and at this rate I'll have to use Arial. Please reply and use small words. Thank you.

Yesterday was not the greatest day. We're in the midst of a mind-numbing data entry project at work, which has caused my tendonitis to flare up again from all the tabbing over. Tendonitis is one of the most annoying sensations I know of. It's not so much a pain as a sort of nonstop painful itch inside my arm. I can't be wimpy and beg off the project, so I just have to put up with it. I have my arm brace on, though, and it's helping a little. At least I have a nice long computerless week coming up soon.

On the positive side, we booked a fantastic photographer last night. My mom and I met with him and are both very excited about him. He's very talented and organized. Now all we need is a florist. God is really bringing this wedding together. Yay God! :) After the photographer meeting, we met up with my dad and Evan for dinner, which was a nice surprise. Then Evan and I went to the library. To my excitement they had Pledged: The Secret Life of Sororities, and I'm already about halfway through it. I am simultaneously fascinated and disturbed, and feeling more thankful than ever that I didn't go that route.

The weather is absolutely amazing. Today's high is 79. I have never gotten an early fall as a birthday present before, but I'm loving it. :) Also I'm having lunch with my friend Kristin today, which might help alleviate the restlessness I've been feeling all week. Evan feels similarly bored. I don't know what's wrong with us. We have a nice action-packed weekend coming up, though! I'm so excited about the Olympics starting tomorrow. I love the Olympics. I still have a tape of the 1998 figure-skating long program with Michelle Kwan and Tara Lipinski. I think I'll tape the gymnastics this year since it's my favorite of the summer events. Go USA!

I'm not really an expert but the way I get fonts is something like this: download them, open, I think I right click and there is an option like "unzip using..." whatever unzippy sort of program there is. (These are my terms, can you tell!? Unzippy indeed!) Then it opens the unzipped fonts in a new window and I drag and drop them into my fonts (in the control panel section). Voila! But...um...I have a feeling given my terminology this may not be that helpful.

If you extract the fonts to c:\windows\fonts they should show up in word (you may have to close word and open it again though). Don't know why thats not working for you.

I like that photographer's web site.

I don't know why it's not working, it sounds like you have the right thing . . .

I've fought through tendonitis as well. :-( Do you do any stretches? That helped me alot.

Are there stretches for your arms? That would be really helpful!

The quickest one to do can be done at your desk - stretch out your hand and place your fingertips on the edge of your desk and press down lightly, making a slight V-shape with your hands until you feel a light stretch. Another one you can do is stretch your arm out in front of you, have your palm facing the wall in front of you (as if saying, "stop! in the name of love!") and lightly pull back on your fingers with your other hand.

I developed tendonitis while in college, and went to physical therapy for awhile and these are some stretches they suggested. Also, if you know you're getting ready to go into a situation where it will flare up, taking ibuprofen can be good preventative action. :-)

I'll try those! Thanks. I usually don't have problems anymore (since I got an ergonomic keyboard), but certain kinds of data entry make it flare up really badly.

I'm pretty sure you can't just copy it to the fonts folder. Use this method, as it will work:

Extract the font to c:\windows. Open the Control Panel, and then open the Fonts folder from there. Click File..., then Install New Font. Your font will be listed in the top window. Make sure that Copy fonts to Font folder is checked, click Select All, then click OK.

I'm not a big sports person in general, but I always get excited for the Olympics. :) Gymnastics is my fav. summer event, too (followed by track & field, swimming, and diving) - and ice skating/dancing is my fav. winter event.

Before you can extract 'em, you need to download a (free) program to unzip 'em. Check out http://www.winzip.com and download the trial version. (Far as I know, it won't expire.) Then after you download the program, save the "zip" file onto your PC and search for it in WinZip. It's a good, easy program!

Oh, I already have it! That's what I mean about unzipping. I can't get it to open after the program unzips it. I'm going to try everyone's tips, though.

I hope your tendonitis subsides soon, hon. *hugs* I just said a prayer about it. {{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{Brenda}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}} I definitely can empathize first-hand with the problems that a data entry job can cause with your hands and wrists. Take care of yourself!

Congratulations on your photographer booking! That's wonderful news. :-D I pray that the rest of your wedding planning goes smoothly and with as little stress as possible. :-)

Yay for the Olympics! There's something so exciting about them. :-) Enjoy!

Take care --

Hee, you make me laugh :D I hope everyone's tips helped you. Since they already covered it & I'm late, there's no use in me trying to help.

To my excitement they had Pledged: The Secret Life of Sororities...and feeling more thankful than ever that I didn't go that route.

Didn't you say your sister was in a sorority? Or am I thinking of someone else for some reason?
