I feel good today. Since Evan has to work all weekend again, he's taking me on a date tonight. :) *cartoon hearts* We're going to Olive Garden, and then we're going shooting. Like, to the firing range. He recently got a new gun and wants me to learn how to shoot it, in case I ever have to. I can't say I'm too excited about it, but it's important to him and he has a valid point. The whole thing reminds me of that episode of West Wing where CJ's cute bodyguard goaded her into trying his gun, and she fell over when she shot it. (That was just for you, rightwaveDaniel. :))

Last night we rented Mean Girls. It was pretty funny, but I've been building it up in my mind for so long that I was a little disappointed. Maybe I'm finally too old to relate to that kind of stuff. And Lindsay Lohan is gorgeous, but seeing that much eyeliner on a person was almost painful.

Speaking of girly things, my highlights are getting bleachy again and I'm trying a new remedy - Brilliant Brunette shampoo. I can't afford to go back to the salon for another month, so this is my only chance. It's supposed to enhance brown hair without depositing color, but I'm hoping it makes the highlights a little darker anyway. Does anyone remember Glints? It was a mild haircolor that washed out in a few weeks. They stopped making it. I'd give a lot to get my hands on some now, because that's exactly what I need. After the wedding I'm going back to my natural color, and not just because of the money - I'm tired of dealing with all this. Plus, I miss brown-haired me.

This week is taking forever. I could have sworn that yesterday was Wednesday. aardwolfLawson is apparently confused too, since he called me this morning to ask where we were going for our weekly Thursday lunch. It must be Mt. St. Helens' fault.

I'm thinking about making a separate journal (or community) for book reviews. But then what would I talk about here? :P

Weird! It definitely seems like Thursday to me, too. In fact, Thursday is the day our trash collectors come, so guess what I put at the curb when I left for work this morning. :P Tricksy Mount Saint Helens...

Ooh, the John Frieda stuff? I swear by his shampoo and conditioner. It's amazing and just about the only thing that doesn't make my hair either flat or frizzy. I love it. I like his styling gel, too.

If you made a book review community, I'm sure I'd post there. :-)

:) Yeah, I thought you'd like that idea. I just don't know if I have the energy to put into maintaining a community, though, and all the trolls that go with it. I'd have to do the kind where people asked to join.

There are a number of color enhancing shampoos and conditioners out there. I wish I could find mine and tell you the brand. I was pleased with the results. (I got it at a salon).

HERE IT IS!! It's (Matrix) Biolage Color Care Conditioner.

Scroll down and see the "earth tones" collection. I have the light gold, and I love it. You could get the Natural Brown. They even let you print a coupon!

Is that shampoo sold at normal places (i.e. Wal-Mart, Target)?

Yeah, I got it at Target! They have Sheer Blonde, too, which does the same thing for blondes.

Great Episode!

Brens-

That was indeed a great episode of the West Wing! Gotta love CJ. And I for one am glad you're going to the range. It's a goal of mine in the near future to learn how to shoot. It's one of the few things in my life thus far I've really wanted to do but haven't done. Soon, though, soon. But, good for you!!! What kind of gun is it?

Also, I have had the same feelings about the week. I could have sworn yesterday was Wednesday...then all of a sudden, this morning, it was Wednesday again!! Much like the movie Groundhog Day.

Talk to you later-would definitely join in a book discussion thing. I have a part of my website (www.danielj4pres.org) where I list the books I'm reading and give some recommendations, but I haven't done any writing about them. :)

Thanks for the encouragement. :) It was kind of scary at the range, but I got used to it after a few minutes. Evan says I did better than he expected.

I list what I've read on my webpage, too! Unfortunately I'm not able to publish the page, so no one sees it but me. :P

Are you guys near Mount Saint Helens? I have little idea as to where Memphis and Mount Saint Helens are.

Oh no, nowhere near it. Mt. St. Helens is in Washington state, fairly close to [livejournal.com profile] jmcphers. (They shouldn't be affected by it if it blows, though.)

I love brilliant brunette! It's what I use, plus the John Frieda hair serum. I've always switched to something new every time I have to buy another bottle of shampoo and conditioner, but I've been sticking with this. Understand, I consider spending more than $3 per bottle splurging, so to buy this was really out of my normal habits. But, after cutting all of my hair off, the stuff lasts forever. Now I can't go back because the other conditioners feel like the consistency of water. Did I really just type five sentences completely about hair products?

Brenda, I read your blog nearly everyday! I don't know why I don't comment. For some reason I can never remember my username and when I get that sent to me, I can't remember my password and have to get that sent to me. Yarg. Anyway...

This is so pathetically late, but congratulations on your engagement! My heart rejoices with yours! I feel sure that I'm going to run in to you one of these days because we live so close to each other and apparently frequent the same joints (and share a love for McAlisters tea). Blessings to you!

Hi Kati! Thanks for commenting. :) We really ought to meet up sometime since we live practically in the same block. I bet I've seen you at Kroger a million times and didn't know it was you.

You think? I like that idea better than joining an established community. I always hesitate to post in communities because I don't want to be annoying, but if I STARTED the thing, I'd feel free to post as much as I wanted. :)
