I want to post but currently have nothing to discuss. So, at Jessica's request, here is the playlist for my Most Romantic Songs Ever CD. :)

The first three songs are my favorites. The others are in a more random order. I realized too late that I had made two major omissions- "With or Without You" by U2 and "One Hand, One Heart" from West Side Story, as sung by Tevin Campbell on this CD. :)

1. More Than Words - Extreme
2. In Your Eyes - Geoffrey Gaines (remake of the Peter Gabriel song, but all mellow and acoustic)
3. I'll Be - Edwin McCain
4. Crash - Dave Matthews Band (yes, I know it's about a peeping Tom, but it's just so beautiful. :))
5. Breathing - Lifehouse
6. Angel Eyes - Jeff Healey Band
7. More Than That - Backstreet Boys
8. On Bended Knee - Boyz II Men
9. I Can't Wait Another Minute - Hi-Five (I had a thing about this song when I was in middle school, so it had to be included :))
10. Crazy - K-Ci and Jo-Jo (the song from Save the Last Dance. I don't know what it is about this song, but I swoon when I hear it. :))
11. God Must Have Spent - NSYNC
12. It's In Your Eyes - Phil Collins
13. Whenever You Come Around - Vince Gill
14. Somewhere North - Caedmon's Call
15. She's Got A Way - Billy Joel
16. Near You Always - Jewel

Yeah, go ahead and call me cheesy and sentimental if you want. I will just say :P to you. :)

Oooh... #1 is one of my favorite songs. I called what was once 107.5 KISS FM, and requested it, and they laughed at me... They never did play it. :P

Yes, I think that song was far too lovely and mature for their 13-year-old audience. :P

This is a idea.

I'm gonna' have to think about this. What do I think are the most romantic songs?

One I know for sure - right off the bat - is Lady in Red by Chris DeBurgh.

Yeah, I guess that's pretty romantic. Unfortunately I have come to associate it with Weight Watchers commercials. :)

Those are good songs.. I love "Somewhere North"! I do love "Crash" also, even though the lyrics are probably not the best. Now I want to think about the songs I find the most romantic... I know for sure that one is "Tender Love" by Force MDs? I think.. Oh my gosh, I just realized that Backstreet Boys redid that song. I hate it when a cheesy band redoes a song that I used to like...now it will be known by THEM but it's NOT a Backstreet Boys song!!

That was like the most rambling paragraph ever.

I've never heard that song! Either version. :) I'll have to download it sometime.

Oh I should send it to you... the REAL version. It's an R&B style of song, but that's what I used to listen to as a teenager. Only, it doesn't sound too R&Bish because it's just piano accompaniment. Anyway, I think it's so sweet and romantic sounding. It's peaceful and nice. You'd probably like it, and maybe you've heard it and don't realize.

I only knew one song on that list and I think it was the last one. does this mean I am not hip? (or whatever word describes coolness these days)

Here are some that I think are fairly romantic.

In my life--the beatles
At Last -- Etta James
Every time we say good bye -- Ella Fitzgerald
I've Got your Under My skin -- duet of Frank Sinatra and Bono
'Round Midnight -- Eydie Gorme
The Girl from Ipanema -- Stan Getz
When I'm 64 --the beatles
Hold me, Thrill me, Kiss me -- I can't remember the singer
Our love is here to stay -- Gershwin

Can't think of any others

Mm, I'm not huge on boy bands, but that BSB song is pretty good. I think that "Drowning" is a bit more romantic than "More Than That", though. The one really really good song they recorded is "What Makes You Different" - and I'm dying to know what made them write that one (yeah, they actually did write it, amazingly enough :D).

"Love of My Life" (Jim Brickman & Michael W. Smith) is pretty romantic, and so is "I Will Be Here" (Stephen Curtis Chapman). I could come up with more if I had the time . . . :D

uh oh!

Romantic songs, wedding plans....are these good for our hearts ladies?? ;P Not mine. Not right now. I'd love to dwell on how much I love the song "Anytime" by Brian McKnight, or "Kissing You" by Des'ree....but I won't. It makes me crazy.

Excellent point, and I wondered that myself. I don't listen to a lot of secular music (particularly love songs), but lately the thought of them doesn't bring me down..it's kind of inspiring or else ineffective. Maybe because I don't have a crush on anyone? The wedding thing was also more of an informative thought than a romantic one. But I do need to watch myself and not get caught up in those things, particularly right now. Thank you. :)
