is it 5:00 yet?
Sep. 20th, 2002 11:10 amSo it is raining.
Last night was an atypical Thursday night. Ryan decided he wasn't going to class because it was raining (I didn't even bother pointing out how flimsy that excuse was), so he came over for dinner. Kathy's boyfriend was also there. After dinner Ryan stayed and watched Friends with us, and then we watched the first episode of the Buffy second-season DVD. It was a nice change from my usual Take A Nap, Clean, and Read Books weeknight. :) Tonight we are all going to dinner at the Macaroni Grill, just because. We do this once in a while and it's always fun.
Saturday is a big game against Tulane, and there are pre-game barbecues going on, and then everyone is going to the fair. Evan is even detatching from his truck to go. And of course, I have to miss it. I have to go to a band competition in Ripley with my family. It's the only one that both my sister's and my brother's bands are attending, so we're killing two birds with one stone. I enjoy competitions, and I'm looking forward to spending time with my family, but did it have to be this Saturday? Sigh.
Whine, whine, whine. Here's the Friday Five.
1. Would you say that you're good at keeping in touch with people?
I don't think I'm as good about it as I used to be. I don't even talk to my parents very often, and they live 10 miles away. :(
2. Which communication method do you usually prefer/use: e-mail, telephone, snail mail, blog comments, or meeting in person? Why?
In person, especially when I need to talk to them about something important.
3. Do you have an instant messenger program? How many? Why/why not? How often do you use it?
I just have AIM on my computer at home, and I don't get online much at home. As I've told Lawson, I wish I could IM with everyone during the day, but I'm pretty sure it would get me in trouble. I get overwhelmed when I'm talking to a lot of people at a time, and I probably wouldn't hide it well.
4. Do most of your close friends live nearby or far away?
Nearby.
5. Are you an "out of sight, out of mind" person, or do you believe that "distance makes the heart grow fonder"?
I don't know. I think a little distance can make the heart grow fonder, but not too much. It's hard to stay close with people who live further away, but there are a few people who will be your friends forever, no matter how far apart you are. :)
