Last night was weird. I laid down for a nap after dinner, not setting the alarm because I have lately been able to wake myself up at the right time. This time, it didn't work. I was awakened by a phone call at 7:10. My Bible study was at 7:30. I managed to get there on time, but I felt blah and disoriented for the rest of the evening. When I came home and tried to really go to bed, I couldn't sleep! When I finally did, I had bad dreams ranging from "The Internet police at work caught me surfing and they're going to fire me" to scary terrorist dreams. It was not a good night. So let this be a lesson to you: do not nap after dinner. :)

I was informed last night that my family and I are going to Texas for Thanksgiving this year. Until a few years ago, this was tradition, but then my grandmother decided she didn't want to "do" Thanksgiving anymore. I missed seeing my cousins, but it was pretty nice to be able to relax at home over Thanksgiving weekend instead of being stressed by familial tension and spending 12 hours in a van. Last year was the best Thanksgiving ever. Evan and Ryan came over for dinner, and Kathy and Em came over later, and we ate ravenously and watched football and acted like one big happy family. I was looking forward to more of the same this year, so I'm kind of sad about the change in plans. Ryan says I can stay and have Thanksgiving with them, but I know if I did that, I would be branded the Bad Daughter forever. And I haven't seen my extended family in years, so it's not like I don't want to see them. I just know they're going to treat me like a child while I'm there, and I know it's going to make me angry, and I'm really not looking forward to that. :P

LOL of the Day: I know I shouldn't think this is funny, but while movie-shopping on Ebay, I saw the title "While You Were Sleeping with Sandra Bullock." Think about it for a minute. :)

Em's here. She forgot to call until late last night, at which point we were wondering whether she'd been blown off the road or something. :) But now she is here and we are going to laissez les bon temps rouler. Since they can't in New Orleans.

Last year, I...was a new employee, praying that I wouldn't get fired because of the post-9/11 economic problems. I was still living in my parents' house. Ryan was my best friend.

Five years ago, I...was a freshman at U of M. I had just started dating Jeremy and was just becoming friends with Kathy. It was a pretty happy time for me.

Today, I...am going to lunch with Lawson and Jeremy. Then after work we are having a big Friendsparty/spaghetti dinner at the apartment. Yay!

Tomorrow, I will...have lunch with Kathy and Em, and we will figure out some fun evening plans. Oh, and tomorrow is another Jeans Day at work. :)

Next week, I will...pay the rent, go to work, go to my usual Bible studies. I don't think anything important is happening next week.

Next year, I will...probably still be living with Kathy, working in the same job, doing the same things. Except I will also have a cat. :)

Five years from now, I will...I won't even try to answer this. Only God knows. :)

Yeah, no one's going to be, though. I don't know if they can even laissez les "okay" temps rouler at this point. :)

I'm listening to the actual Strangefolk show I saw at the House of Blues last year. My brother went with me and he was able to find someone who taped the show and got copies of it. It's awesome... Strangefolk is a great band from Vermont. :)>

I miss NOLA so much... :(

Last year, I...was waiting to start my new job and wondering if I had made the "right" decision to move.

Five years ago, I...was freshman at FSU and just being introduced to reformed theology.

Today, I... continue researching Myers-Briggs (still!), trying to comfort and cheer up friends long distance (this is truly a challenge), am eating lots of candy, will mail birthday presents to Florida and Philadelphia, plan to work-out AND hope to go to Barnes and Noble to devote myself to reading textbooks, but will probably end up watching the Seminoles game on tv.

Tomorrow, I will...work, eat at Macaroni Grill, and watch Sweet Home Alabama with Mark and Catchpole.

Next week, I will...go to work, go to class, work out, call people, go to court and all of the usual, everyday activities that make up life.

Next year, I will...Lord willing, I will be almost finished with my MBA, working and living in the same places, and I'll be a little wiser too.

Five years from now, I will...Lord willing I will be richer with friends and experiences. Oh, and I'll be 28.

Smithville. About halfway between Austin and San Antonio, and smack in the middle of nowhere. It's where Hope Floats was filmed, which is its only claim to fame. :)

So you drive through Waco... it really isn't as bad as it seems. Yesterday i discovered yet another nice neighborhood here. Just in case you are thinking "Waco is such a dump" every time you drive by (if you did?). I really pity Waco and its reputation, though, it really is unfair.

Yeah, that David Koresh had to go ruin it for everybody. :)

All I remember about Waco is that we always pass a Whataburger on the way through town. :)

N.B.: The order of items in this survey has been altered in order to provide a strictly linear chronological progression between events.

Five years ago, I... had just started college and had just started my job at Lockheed, within a week or two of each other.

Last year, I... was busy getting applications for graduate school started and finishing my last semester at WSU.

Today, I... attended the first day of class. I'm visiting a Campus Crusade for Christ meeting tonight.

Tomorrow, I will... "meet" (part of) the class I am TA'ing and go to a free concert by a Christian group held at a coffee shop.

Next week, I will... try to focus on getting started on the right foot in my classes.

Next year, I will... finish my coursework and start planning for Life After Collegetm.

Five years from now, I will... be grateful that when I was filling out that survey five years ago, I didn't claim to know what I'd be doing in five years.

I like Harry Potter too, and I'm 19! It's nice to know that there are some older fans out there who aren't afraid to admit it.

Hi! :)

Have you heard of the Harry Potter for Grownups (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HPforGrownups) list on Yahoo? It's very interesting. :)

Don't nap after dinner, you say? I always thought it was something like "don't eat junk foods late at night", heh. :P
