Oct. 18th, 2002 01:52 pmHAPPY HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY
jessecho!!! I'm so glad you're having a good birthday!
Today is also Royce's birthday, so we're having a surprise party for him tonight at the apartment. MaryElaine didn't want to mess with another cake, since he's already had several, so she bought ice cream sandwiches and we're going to stick a candle in one of them. :)
We had an amusing surprise the other day when a lady from John Casablancas called Kathy to say that she has won a free photo shoot! At first we thought it was a joke, but then Kathy remembered entering a drawing a couple of months ago. So she's going to be a model on Sunday afternoon! I'm going with her, because hey, when am I ever going to see the inside of a modeling agency? :)
Outside my office building, there is a very strong smell of lilies. It smells wonderful, and I'm trying to figure out where or what it's coming from (there aren't any lilies around the building). As I came back inside after lunch, I felt glad that God gave us senses. That was pretty cool of Him. :)
We have a new copier at my work! It's like a miracle. You could hear every copy the old machine made; it was always groaning and beeping as if it were dying. But this machine is quiet and runs smoothly. It even staples quietly. The other admins and I have been dancing for joy. :) Why do machines get so much louder as they get older? I was thinking that cars are the same way; quiet and nice in the beginning, but eventually loud and rattling. I guess the parts fit together less well as they age.
Oh, my director is back at work already. She's doing fine. So I'm glad about that.
Kathy and I watched some of Beauty and the Beast last night to get a feel for Belle's outfit. She thinks I should convince Ryan to go as Gaston, so he could hold up my book and say, "How can you read this? There's no pictures!" (Ryan doesn't like reading, so we thought of him as soon as we heard that line.) I thought it was a funny idea, but he'd rather wear his 70s disco clothes. Oh, well. :) I'm going to have to make my costume, because I can't find anything remotely resembling it.
I've been so thirsty lately. I think it's because I'm not getting enough to drink at work. I bring a Rubbermaid cup full of tea each day, but it somehow drips all over me every time I take a drink, so I get frustrated and end up not drinking at all. I think I'll go get a Coke.

Date: 2002-10-18 12:03 pm (UTC)Thank you, I'm so glad it's a good day too! I remember this one birthday where I had put off renewing my license so I had to go wait in line at DMV for an hour after work, then I went home and the water had been shut off (miscommunication about bills between my parents) so my dad was mad and they were arguing and we had no running water. I can't remember what else, but I DO remember crying. It rocked.
