I can't tonight, I have practice :)
Mar. 26th, 2003 03:31 pmGuess what? My church is putting together a band/symphony thing for Easter. About a month ago, they sent out a call for all the former musicians in the church to come and participate. They made a big deal about the fact that it was okay if you hadn't played in ten or twenty years. This is what usually holds me back from participating in things, so I thought I would consider it. However, they practice on Wednesday nights, when I had Bible study. I meant to call when the study ended and see if it was too late to join the group, but I kept putting it off- until today. I finally called the guy and he said to come to practice tonight and he'd have a book ready for me. I am so excited!
And I'm surprised at how excited I am, but really, I shouldn't be. In my heart I will always be a bandsman (er, woman). :) I can't believe I've managed to neglect that part of me for seven years. I have practiced a little over the last few weeks, and I sounded okay considering that I've hardly played all this time. I can still automatically play most of my scales, too. I guess it's like riding a bike.
Yay! :)
