chestnutcurlsI'm basically alone in our department this morning. Neither of my bosses are here, and my co-worker Donna is on vacation. Hello? (echo) (echo) (echo)
Last night MaryElaine and I had a blast writing a resume for her. I didn't realize that my BS skills were still that sharp. :) It took us an hour to write an "objective" statement, though; I'm terrible at those. We reminisced about the short time, four years ago, when we worked together at my old company. I wish I could share some of our memories, but they'd require a lot of backstory and probably wouldn't be as hilarious to anyone else. I got a funny short-story idea in the midst of this process, but now that I think about it, it probably wouldn't work logistically. Anyway, when she went home I had that great exhausted feeling from laughing too much. I am blessed with the greatest friends.
Here's that reposted survey of Jessica's, since I don't think I knew her when she first posted it. It seems really weird now to imagine not knowing her. :)
How do you like it?
Milk: We get 2%. I hardly ever drink milk, though, and when I do, it has to be chocolate.
Coffee: Creamed and sugared. I like the fancy creams, too, with hazelnut and stuff. It's a good thing I don't drink much coffee...it's probably 1000 calories a cup the way I do it.
Tea: Iced, sweet, no lemon. Some McAlister's employees can figure this out. Others ask, "Do you want lemon?" right after I have specifically stated no lemon. I'm there so often, they ought to know my preferences. :)
Rice: Brown is tastier and healthier. White is fine fried, or with salt and pepper, or in casseroles.
Chicken: Legs (grilled) are easier to eat, but I like chopped chicken in almost anything.
Pizza: Spinach and mushroom. But the more veggies, the better.
Current Events
Is your bed made? Always, except when I'm in it.
Are your shoes tied? I'm wearing Mary Janes today.
How are you wearing your hair today? In a ponytail. It didn't look good enough to leave down.
How's the current temperature in the room? Comfortable. Maybe a little chilly.
You feeling okay, tiger? I'm very concerned/worried about something, but it has nothing to do with me. For my own self, I feel great today. :)
If you could choose any type of _______ to have, what would it be?
Car? I love my car. I will drive it until it dies and then I will get my dream VW Cabriolet.
Pet? A cat and a bunny. Hey! :) I couldn't be happier in the pet department.
Job? Writing books. Or a job scrapbooking for other people, or buying products for a craft store. Wow, that would be fun.
Vacation? Hawaii. I am dying to go to Hawaii.
Do you write:
Poetry? Some, but not much recently. I plan to bring my magnetic poetry words to work, though.
Stories? I used to, and I really want to again. Lately I'm getting a lot of scattered ideas, so I am feeling encouraged.
Emails? Casey used to refer to my e-mails as "epistles." :)
Letters? Yes, mainly to Lori, though I have not been good about it.
Songs? I've never been able to do that. I really admire people who can.
Do you sing:
In the shower? When no one else is home.
In the car? So much, and so dramatically, that passing drivers laugh at me on a regular basis.
In the grocery store? No...LOL.
In a choir? No. I did a long time ago, though.
At work? No, my co-workers already think I'm crazy. :)
Weak/Strong
What sports are you bad at? Almost all of them, unless you count marching band as a sport. :)
What sports are you good at? I'm okay at swimming. Any athletic ability I had went into marching, though.
What games are you bad at? Monopoly. And figure-it-out games like Mafia, or, "This is a cup. This is the top of the cup. This is the bottom of the cup. This is a cup." Just typing that drives me crazy.
What games are you good at? Word games and trivia games.
What relationship skills are you bad at? dealing with conflict, not getting jealous (I guess that's a trust issue)

What errands are you bad at? Going to the bank. I never add things up right on my deposit slips.

Name some college classes you'd like to take if you had the time and money to explore different avenues of interest: Bible classes, more geography/meteorology classes, more creative writing, art history, flower arranging, interior decorating, more ballet, botany (EDIT: I forgot Spanish lit. And French, so I could learn.)
What was the last gift you gave to someone? I treated MaryElaine to Baskin-Robbins last night, but I don't know if that counts.
What is your favorite kind of Easter candy? Peeps and Robin Eggs.
What are your favorite recipes to cook? Fried rice, vegetable frittata, Fourth of July cake
Would you rather rent a movie and stay home or go out to the movie theater? Go out. I like going out.
Do you ever use the expression, "Raise the roof!"? No, but I should. I'm losing my hoodishness.

Impersonations? My brother. I don't really know anyone else who does impersonations. But this guy at church, Tyrel, can do an incredible Yoda. And Harris used to do Chewbacca...one of the RUF guys would randomly yell, "Fire up the Falcon, Chewy!" and Harris would make this perfect Chewy sound. Now I'm laughing.
