with me through it all

prncssevo! And happy Cinco de Mayo!
I agree with everyone else that X-Men 2 was fantastic. We all went to see it Friday night at the new theater, but it was kind of stressful since Royce decided not to come and we had to sell his ticket (which we failed to do), and Luke was late and we almost didn't get seats since we were waiting for him. But the movie made up for all that. Thus beginneth the season of excellent movies. :)
Saturday was a big day. In the morning I had my charity walk at the Botanic Gardens, which was a lot of fun. I can now say that I've done a 5K. After the walking part was over, I took a ton of pictures in the gardens. The flowers were so beautiful! I might get a membership there so I can enjoy them more often. Then I went to Target to buy the Maroon 5 CD. Unfortunately, I'm disappointed in it. I expected the whole CD to be funky and danceable, like "Harder to Breathe," but all the other songs are slower and sort of bluesy. Not bad music...just not what I was expecting. Oh well.
I went home and took a short nap before Evan called to tell me he was off work. I went out to his house, and then we were off to pick up his new/old car from upstate. It took us three hours to get there, but it was a fun trip...we listened to the Buffy musical and caught up on things. After we got the car, we stopped in Dyersburg so he could check it out without the previous owners watching. It's a 1987 Chevy Sprint. It looks like my car, but old and decrepit. When he turns off the engine, it sounds like it's having a seizure. Great purchase. :) By this time it was 9 pm and we still hadn't had dinner, so we went to Perkins, where we had a Situation with our waitress. ( Click for one-act play... )
I didn't get home until midnight, but it was a fun trip. He even paid for my gas and my dinner, so I came out ahead. :) However, I was exhausted all day yesterday and almost fell asleep at my sister's senior recognition program. I ended up napping at my parents' house for most of the evening. When I got home, I spent several hours watching the storm coverage. I couldn't believe it when I saw the footage from Jackson this morning- they had two tornadoes, and a good portion of the town is ripped apart. Shana, are your Union friends okay?
Flower photos to follow.
