I'm back at work! I think every weekend should be a three-day weekend. I cleaned and did laundry yesterday, so I can actually have evening activities this week. It snowed for half an hour yesterday morning, which was fun and pretty to watch. I had planned to go for a walk, but with the snow and wind chill of 10, I decided to do an exercise tape instead. This proved to be a bad move. I was wearing socks because of the cold, and while doing a triple-step to the side, my legs flew out from under me. I twisted something in my foot on the way down. It's too bad I was alone, because I'm sure it would have been hilarious to see. The pain, however, was not hilarious. After writhing on the floor for a while, I called Evan for his advice on what to do- I felt like something must be broken. Thankfully I was able to move my toes, so we decided I was okay. Today it hurts less, but I don't think I'll be wearing heels this week. :P

Evan and I had a disagreement about the vast number of pillows on my bed and my fanaticism about the way they are arranged. To my own surprise, I heard myself giving a whole speech on proper pillow placement and usage. It was like the Friends episode where they figured out that Monica had eleven categories for towels. I'm scared of myself now. Anyway, I realized that we on LJ have never addressed this relevant and important topic, so here you go:

I would only have one pillow, except the oen I have are too flat, so I double-decker them to lift my head enough. (Other solution would be: buying a new pillow to replace both of them.)

I have a Belgian pillow and an English one. The Belgian one's big flat and squared and the English one's rectancle and not flat.

I have two regular pillows on my bed, but I normally only use one. I own a body pillow, but lately it's been living on the floor at the foot of my bed. I just don't use it and it takes up space.

My husband comments that I sleep in a "pillow fort" - I have to have one under my head, one over, one on each side. Plus my bear! He uses 3.

I lied. I do not have certain pillows for sleep that are not on the bed during the day. I do have certain pillows for sleep that are partially covered by the decorational pillows during the day. But they do indeed remain ON the bed during the day. And they are also a little part of the decor (color-wise). Anyway, I did not mean to lie, I just misread the question and thought it pertained to me. Woops!

I use 2 normally but if the sinuses are particually bad I go to 3. we have two pillows with shams that match the comforter and a couple of marroon throw pillows which are all discarded at bed time.

This is indeed an important subject to discuss. I have two on my bed, because it is queen-sized and looks sad with only one, but I only use one of them at night - the other stays in its place.

Yay for Pillows!

I am the queen of pillows. At one point- I had 16 on my bed. That got to be too big of a hassle though. Now I have my HUGE body pillow- Brens knows but for those of you who don't- it is an enourmous body pillow that wraps around both sides of your body. It is 12 feet long when streched out! It is heaven in a pillow! Plus I have two normal pillows but they are mostly decorative.
I, unfortunately, can not partake in the polls since I am not a LJ user. :( But I would if I could!

Love the brens!

I only have two because I'm an old married woman...but when I am sick or Chris is gone on a business trip, I use some of our spare pillows to make a pillow box around myself. I always wanted decorator pillows, but I'm too cheap to buy them! : )

Ahhh. This is a subject close to my heart! Unfortunately not one that Fraser and I agree with! I use 3 pillows, 2 for my head and one for my bump, Fraser uses 2. BUT, I also have 2 cushions on the bed for decoration, which are delicately removed by me or flung from the bed by Fraser. BUT the big issue is the arrangement of pillows. We have contrasting sets, the pretty one on top, and on top of the quilt, and if it has flowers on it, the flowers MUST be pointing to the top of the bed! Am I a freak? To torment me, Fraser turns the pillows vertically!

After you pass the bar you should get an LJ. Then it won't matter if you have distractions. :D

LOL! If you're a freak, then I am too! I have to have the pillows in a certain arrangement, facing a certain way. I feel much better now that you have shared. LOL.

Evan messes things up to torment me, too. We used to eat together on campus when we first met, and I'd fold my Subway wrappers very precisely. He'd crumple or tear the corners just to bother me. Since then he has gotten even better at finding my weaknesses. :)

Which exercise tape were you doing? I only own one - "Darren's Dance Grooves". Yeah, just give me a navel ring and call me Britney, but it's fun! LOL! Anyway, glad you're okay!

It was the 10 Minute Workout (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00005R24O/qid=1074635428//ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i1_xgl74/103-0496501-5751004?v=glance&s=dvd&n=507846), boot camp section. The irony is, I wasn't in the mood to exercise at all, and I spent the five minutes up to that point trying to psych myself into finishing. Patheticness at not having 10 minutes of energy aside, I should have listened to my body. :P :)

I have Darren's Dance Grooves, but I can't use it for workout purposes. I guess I could repeat the sections over and over, but that's kind of jumpy and I don't feel like I'm getting a consistent workout. It is fun, though!

I gave contradictory answers and I feel the need to explain myself. I have two pillow on my bed - one is pretty soft and the other is more firm. When I'm reading on my bed, I use both of them. Before I go to sleep, I take one of them off, depending on which bed I'm sleeping on. At school, the bed is really soft and comfortable so I use the soft pillow. At home, the bed is kind of hard and lumpy so I use the firmer pillow. I recently realized that it's more comfortable to me if my pillow matches the level of softness of the bed. This is a topic that many people can just go on and on about. :)

OOh, pillows! what a great subject.:-D I used to have 2-3 on my bed at all times and I'd sleep all smooshed in between them. Then I eventually started to throw them off the bed during the night and sleep pillow-less anyway. Now I have one and SOMETIMES I sleep on it like a normal person but usually I sleep with it OVER my head. Therefore I could not answer #3. If I actually had a coordinating room or somethign I would love decorator pillows if I wasn't too cheap.

I visit this pillow at work quite often. It's so soft. I pet it and play with it's tassles and then bid it goodbye. Heehee. That's the kind of pillow I like.

I still have Darren's Dance Grooves...but I haven't tried it again since that first time.....when I realized that I really am not coordinated enough to really be a dancer..and it just made me laugh too much to really be serious about it.

I kind of organize my pillows and have them face a certain way...but that's only when I really feel like it. When I'm feeling like my bedroom is clean and pretty I stack my pillows up nicely. (The three that I use when I sleep, two of them are the same color(right now off-white pillowcases) and the one that has a complementing color to go with my sheets(which right now is light blue because my sheets are flannel, light blue with sheep and polka dots). Then I have my two decorative pillows that are smaller and they happen to be another shade of blue, those have to rest at an angle with one of the points on each one facing the ceiling, and then my two Serta sheep(Chutney(#1) and Chickpea(#5)) have to rest on those. Oh..and the sheep are usually facing each other.

Okay..after that whole description I'm feeling quite Monica-like.

Hmmm...Chris and I don't usually rearrange things to torment each other, but when I want to get his goat I start talking about "these ones" and "those ones," those happening to be the only big grammatical mistakes I make...and, coincidentally, the ones that drive him most insane! : ) *laughs evilly*

What was Evan doing looking at your bed?

You're not nearly old enough for this sort of stuff yet.
